Wedding Invitiation

my sister is getting married this summer so I've had the exciting task of designing her wedding invitations. Her and her fiancé wanted them to be bright and not too formal. Knowing that bunting will be used in the decorations for the vintage-themed wedding, I decided to use that as the motif for the invitations, with hand done calligraphy for the main text.

The bunting is a two colour screen print and they're printed on 200 white card.

RSVP cards are soon to be finished too.

I created a publication called 'xx magazine'. It is a magazine concerned with politics, mostly gender related politics in the UK and internationally. I used hand drawn illustration for most of the articles and a mixture of illustration, sewing and collage for the covers. I wanted them to be illustrative but they couldn't be too graphic. For example, finding a way to illustrate an article about female genital mutilation in London was a bit tricky but I think the cover conveys the message well.

An Incident and other stories by Marcus Bastel

In this brief I was asked to set the type and design the page layouts for the inside of the book and also the cover. It is a book of short stories by Marcus Bastel and the title story, An Incident, involves a crime. For this reason I made the cover using my typewriter for the text and collage to give it the look of a file and to maintain an air of mystery.
